The Construction Project Manager leads the planning and implementation of commercial construction projects from initial kickoff through contract completion. This role defines project goals, tasks, and resource requirements to ensure successful, on-time delivery while maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with customers. The Construction Project Manager also supports pre-sale activities by coordinating and communicating with sales, estimating, and customers during design, budgeting, and quoting phases, particularly for projects involving exterior metal panel systems.
Responsibilities
Lead the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects from project kickoff through completion of contract.
Define clear project goals, scope, tasks, and resource requirements to achieve successful and timely project completion.
Coordinate pre-sale activities with sales, estimating, and customers during design, budget development, and quoting phases.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
Review, interpret, and work from commercial construction blueprints and technical drawings.
Oversee project coordination activities, including design reviews, engineering input, and site development requirements.
Prepare, review, and manage requests for information (RFIs) and change orders, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
Collaborate with project engineering and estimation teams to align design, cost, and constructability.
Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
Maintain thorough document control, including drawings, specifications, contracts, correspondence, and project records.
Use AutoCAD and other design tools as needed to review or support drafting and engineering-related project work.
Communicate proactively with customers to provide updates, address issues, and maintain strong relationships throughout the project.
Utilize Microsoft Office applications for reporting, data entry, documentation, and project tracking.
Coordinate with internal teams involved in designing, manufacturing, and constructing exterior metal paneling systems.
Support continuous improvement by sharing project learnings and contributing to more efficient processes and practices.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with customers in a project manager capacity.
Proven experience managing construction or commercial construction projects.
Ability to read and comprehend commercial blueprints and construction drawings.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience in construction project management, including project coordination, scheduling, and document control.
Familiarity with RFIs, change orders, and construction-related documentation processes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain customer relationships.
Ability to work effectively with design, engineering, estimating, and field teams.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing project documentation and data entry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
Drafting or engineering qualifications are preferred.
Experience with AutoCAD or similar design and drafting software.
Background in commercial construction, particularly involving exterior paneling systems, is highly beneficial.
Experience in construction management and project engineering.
Knowledge of site development processes and commercial construction practices.
Experience with project estimation and project scheduling tools.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, people-focused environment with an open-door culture.
High drive for career growth and willingness to learn, with the understanding that it may take about a year to become fully functional in the role.
Work Environment
This role is primarily office-based, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position follows a hybrid schedule that offers one day per week working from home. Travel is not required on a consistent basis, aside from occasional local site visits. The organization focuses on modernizing commercial buildings by designing, manufacturing, and constructing exterior metal paneling systems, and operates in a collaborative environment that emphasizes putting people first. The office follows an open-door philosophy, with offices designed without doors to encourage accessibility and communication. Team members can personalize and decorate their offices to create a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. The role involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. The work typically involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing for brief periods.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $43.27/hr.
