The Forensic Services campus in St. Peter is comprised of the Forensic Mental Health Program and the Forensic Nursing Home. Forensic Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment.
Community Integrated Services provides ongoing monitoring and support to FMHP patients who have been provisionally discharged by a court to live in less restrictive settings in the community. The program, which serves individuals from all 87 Minnesota counties, provides support services to help patients to live happy, stable, successful lives in a variety of community settings outside of FMHP facilities. Our team is excited to announce an opening for a Behavioral Consultant to join our team.
As the Behavioral Consultant you will work with our mobile team and maintain a caseload of individuals who are civilly committed to our program and provide assessment, clinical consultation, person-centered support recommendations, and training for individuals with complex behavioral health challenges. You will also develop and provide individualized training and assistance to community providers to enhance their abilities to provide support.
Other duties may include:
Complete assessments to articulate appropriate community support for individuals with complex behavioral health challenges and individuals' support networks
Provide support and/or crisis prevention and response plans to individuals within Community Integrated Services
Consult on case formulation, care coordination, and clinical guidance to all parties involved; this may include individuals served and their families, service providers, employers, schools, and county stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
3 years of experience providing behavioral health clinical services including at least 4 of the 6 activities listed below:¿¿
¿Delivering psychoeducation
¿Providing case coordination among multidisciplinary team members¿¿
¿Conducting comprehensive assessments¿¿
¿Leading development of treatment/support plans as required by program licensure¿¿
¿Planning discharge/transition and/or aftercare
Developing behavioral interventions and recommendations for interdisciplinary staff implementation
¿¿In addition to the above qualifications applicants must meet the requirements for a Mental Health Practitioner as defined in MN Statute 245I.04, subdivision 4. (https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cite/245I.04#stat.245I.04.2) ¿
¿¿* 1 year of relevant experience requirement may be substituted by a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or behavior analysis; ¿the experience requirement also may be substituted by a bachelor's degree in human services or a related behavioral health field ¿that includes substantial behavioral health coursework such as individual or group counseling, clinical interviewing, clinical assessment, crisis intervention, or similar behavioral health courses.¿¿
¿* 1 ½ years of relevant experience requirement may be substituted by a master's degree in any of the degrees listed above.¿¿
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with patients in a mental health or behavioral health setting.
