Forensic Services in St. Peter has an exciting opening as a Clinical Educator. As the Clinical Educator will provide leadership within our Behavioral Health Department through coordination and delivery of clinical services orientation and training on identified clinical best practices, critically looking at all clinical practices and treatment curriculums and identifying opportunities for improvement and serving as a role model for excellent clinical service delivery. The Clinical Educator will serve as a consultant and collaborate with other treatment disciplines and committees.

Other duties may include:

Establish and maintain an orientation plan for all newly hired behavioral health staff and unpaid behavioral health students

Provide new employee orientation and ongoing competency related training to support adherence of established practice standards

Maintain online resources to ensure behavioral health staff are updated of critical updates to clinical policies and procedures

Coordinate orientation and clinical experiences for all unpaid behavioral health students, while working closely with local colleges to ensure contracts are maintained

Participate in Forensic Services committees to address relevant work topics for clinical practice (e.g., Learning & Development Advisory Committee, Electronic Health Record & Technology, and Core 4).

Interface with stakeholders across Forensic Services and Direct Care & Treatment, where high quality of communication (written and verbal) are essential

Formerly known as the Minnesota Security Hospital, the Forensic Mental Health Program (FMHP) provides residential treatment services for adults in secure and non-secure settings on a large campus in St. Peter, MN. In addition, the program operates a 32-bed facility located on the north side of St. Peter, referred to as North Campus, and another 16-bed facility also located off campus in St. Peter.

The FMHP primarily serves patients who have been civilly committed by a court as mentally ill and dangerous. Patients often have been charged with crimes and civilly committed after a criminal court found them not competent to stand trial or not guilty by reason of mental illness or cognitive impairment. Patients may be under more than one @type of civil commitment.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or related field;¿

One year of post master's degree experience providing behavioral health clinical services including at least 3 of the 5 activities listed below:

OR¿

¿Master's degree in psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or related field; and¿

Independent Licensure/Certification in the State of Minnesota (e.g., LPCC, LICSW, LMFT)

Preferred Qualifications

Clinical licensure in the State of Minnesota
