Job Title: Machine Operator Assistant - Production

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Machine Operator Assistant in our production department. This role involves assisting in the operation of production machinery, ensuring efficient and safe production processes.

Responsibilities

Assist in the operation of production machinery by loading and unloading materials.

Monitor equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Inspect materials for quality assurance.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Follow safety and quality procedures diligently.

Lift and handle materials consistently weighing 30-50 lbs throughout the shift.

Essential Skills

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.

Mechanically inclined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in machine operation, general production, and packaging.

Proficient in the use of hand tools and tape measures.

Experience with forklift operation is advantageous.

Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform bending and twisting motions.

Work Environment

Work in a paper and cardboard production environment with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with potential for overtime. Safety is a priority, requiring eye protection, closed-toed shoes, hearing protection, and a hi-vis vest, all of which are provided. Enjoy a collaborative atmosphere where safety and teamwork are at the forefront.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
