We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in South Pittsburg, Tennessee on a contract-to-permanent basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting specialist who can support day-to-day financial operations while contributing to an accurate and timely month-end close. The position offers a broad scope across reconciliations, receivables, payables, and general ledger activity, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys both detail-focused work and problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

Manage month-end close activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and supporting the accuracy of financial records.

Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger activity to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Oversee accounts receivable tasks such as issuing customer statements, following up on outstanding balances, and addressing billing-related questions.

Support accounts payable processing by reviewing invoices, coding transactions appropriately, and helping maintain timely vendor payments.

Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure entries are posted in alignment with accounting standards and internal controls.

Investigate account variances and partner with internal stakeholders to resolve issues affecting financial reporting.

Use NetSuite to record, track, and analyze accounting transactions and produce reliable financial data.

Assist with additional close-related responsibilities and other accounting support functions as needed within the finance team.

Requirements

5+ years of accounting experience, including meaningful involvement in month-end close activities.

Strong working knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, and journal entry preparation.

Demonstrated experience completing bank reconciliations and researching account discrepancies.

Proficiency with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems in an accounting environment.

Solid understanding of debits, credits, and core accounting principles.

Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a deadline-driven setting.

Manufacturing industry experience is preferred or the ability to adapt quickly to a production-based business environment.

Must be willing to complete drug and background screening to be considered!
