POSITION PURPOSE:
Serves as a subject-matter expert for Finance Technology solutions, partnering with Finance, Accounting, and IT stakeholders to design, implement, and support scalable, compliant, and efficient financial systems. This role evaluates business requirements or process challenges and translates those into solutions in the SAP ERP platform or other related financial systems. Drives continuous improvement across finance processes and technologies by not only designing but implementing complex system configurations, testing, and system maintenance tasks to ensure system integrity.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Analyzes and evaluates business functions and processes related to assigned areas such as Enterprise Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Planning Budget and Formulation, Material Management, Project Systems, Human Resources/Payroll, Plant Maintenance, Fixed Asset Accounting, Project Portfolio Management and Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC).
Interfaces with functional process owners and users to identify, define, and document operational needs, objectives, processes and procedures, problems, input/output requirements, and levels of systems access.
Analyzes the feasibility of user requests and develops requirements for new systems and enhancements which ensure the system design fits the needs of users while aligning with TVA's finance systems strategy.
Identifies opportunities for improving business processes or systems in partnership with process owners and TVA management.
Leverages knowledge of system capabilities and functional needs drive implementation of operational efficiencies and AI solutions that drive continuous improvement across finance.
Collaborates with users to explain, interpret and clarify functional configurations and process changes involving assigned business systems and modules.
Acts as a liaison between departmental end-users and technical staff in the analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of assigned business systems and modules to ensure optimal system integration and performance.
Leverages advanced knowledge of assigned business systems and modules to perform complex functional or technical system configuration tasks and develop solutions to address business requirements, system bugs, changes, and enhancements.
Evaluates new maintenance releases and version upgrades of assigned business systems and modules to understand new or changing system functionality. Develop and execute implementation and testing plans for these releases to keep TVA current with technology and functionality advances.
Understands and facilitates the implementation of required system integrations between various business systems and modules.
Performs unit testing and integration testing for assigned modules from development to production. Troubleshoots and resolves configuration or master data problems after releases, changes, and/or upgrades.
Supports user testers from various business areas to complete high quality testing of assigned business system modules.
Tracks and documents changes in functional and business specifications and writes detailed procedures that can be easily understood by end-users.
Trains users and supports training in the usage of business systems functionality related to assigned areas.
Assigned systems modules may include but are not limited to SAP Human Resources, SAP Financial, SAP Material Management, SAP Government Risk and Compliance, SAP Planning Budget and Formulation, SAP Plant Maintenance, SAP Portal (ESS and MSS), SAP Project Systems, PowerPlan, Copperleaf C55, Peoplesoft (HR Plus) or eWorkplace.
Incumbents in this class are not required to perform programming duties.
Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Bachelor's degree preferably with a major in finance, accounting, business administration, computer information systems, management information systems, or a related field.
Experience - At least seven years of related experience. Desired experience in the functional configuration, modification, or maintenance of the respective business system.
Certification/License, etc. - Related IT certifications, financial certifications (i.e. CPA, CFMA) or project management (PMP) certifications preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Strong functional and technical process knowledge of the SAP ERP platform or related financial systems. D emonstrated ability to analyze and define complex business systems functions, business processes, and user needs. Ability to work effectively and independently on assigned projects. Crisp verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Present and lead discussions on business
