The Quality Technician performs inspections and quality checks during manufacturing to ensure products consistently meet defined specifications and quality standards. This role works closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to identify nonconformances, document inspection results, and support corrective and preventive actions. The Quality Technician uses precision measurement tools, verifies documentation, supports first article and setup approvals, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while following all applicable quality and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
Perform in-process and final inspections on manufactured products to verify they meet defined specifications and quality standards.
Use precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers to measure parts and components accurately.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T symbols, and specifications to determine inspection criteria.
Identify nonconformances and deviations from specifications and communicate findings to manufacturing and engineering teams.
Document inspection results clearly and accurately in accordance with quality procedures and documentation requirements.
Support first article inspections and setup approvals to ensure new or revised processes meet quality expectations before full production.
Assist in calibration checks and verification of measurement tools and equipment to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Collaborate with quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams to support corrective and preventive actions for identified issues.
Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor processes and help maintain consistent product quality.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on inspection findings and suggesting improvements to processes and procedures.
Adhere to all applicable quality and safety requirements while performing daily tasks on the manufacturing floor.
Essential Skills
1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and specifications.
Hands-on experience with quality control and inspection activities in a production setting.
Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
Experience applying statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and documentation.
Ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
Solid understanding of basic engineering and manufacturing processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a similar discipline.
Experience working with calibration procedures for measurement tools and equipment.
Familiarity with quality systems and documentation practices in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to support first article inspections and setup approvals.
Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38000.00 - $56000.00/yr.
