This position is a Regional Risk Manager for the Southeast Region. Duties include: management of risk for individuals with intellectual disabilities andautism, collaboration oninvestigationsincluding active assistancewithaction plans and interviews, oversightof mortality reviews, facilitationof appeals, participation in PBS rollout and peer review, oversight of regional compliance with data collection, reporting and provision of support to area offices andthe field (program monitors), as well as other responsibilities as a member of the senior management team. TheRegionalRisk Managerfunctionsas a seniorlevel manager,providingdirection,supportand oversightto avariety ofclinical services and oversight services within the Region. This position oversees allprogrammatic andadministrative aspects ofthe Department of Developmental Services (DDS) risk management and incident reporting system for the Southeast Region. This entails developing, maintaining andenhancing systems in place to assure the appropriate identificationand review of individuals at risk served by DDS. At any given time, there are approximately200 risk management plans intheregionrequiring monitoring andoversight. Theposition oversees theincident reporting system Home and Community Services Information System (HCSIS), including assuring that appropriate individual actions are taken andthat data isaggregated andanalyzed inorder toidentify patterns andtrends. The position involves consultation to DDS Area staff as well as providers regarding individuals at risk and is responsible for special projects related to the scopes identified for this position. The Regional RiskManager playsanactive rolein the regional peer review andPBS team andoversees mortality reviews for the region. The position works with the Office ofQuality Enhancement around surveys and will assist area offices in follow up. Follow may entail additional or special reviews of provider agencies. The Regional RiskManager participates in statewide committees andisthe conduit for clinical referrals tostatewide clinical resources.
