Job Description
This Accountant role combines hands-on technical accounting with strategic business partnership in a fast-paced commercial real estate environment. You will support SEC reporting requirements, ensure accurate and timely financial close processes, and drive process improvements across complex service agreements. The position offers the opportunity to apply advanced accounting standards such as ASC 606, maintain strong internal controls, and collaborate cross-functionally to support business growth and financial stewardship. The role follows a Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule.
Responsibilities
Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for the Americas REMS business, ensuring critical deadlines are met and results are delivered without surprises.
Prepare comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts and clearly communicate required adjustments to leadership.
Perform detailed variance analysis by comparing current results to prior periods, investigating trends, and documenting findings for management review.
Ensure accurate revenue recognition and proper contract setup across subservice lines in full compliance with ASC 606 standards.
Execute Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls testing and assist in identifying, documenting, and resolving accounting and internal control issues.
Support external and internal audits by preparing detailed workpapers, providing supporting documentation, and responding promptly to auditor inquiries.
Mentor and manage one Staff Accountant, either directly or through a matrix reporting structure, providing guidance, feedback, and support for professional development.
Collaborate with Work Dynamics Finance team members, including Business Partnering and FP&A, to support business growth initiatives and enhance financial performance.
Apply accounting best practices and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.
Work with complex service agreements to ensure proper accounting treatment and alignment with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
Essential Skills
Analytical mindset with a proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with at least 4 years of professional accounting experience.
Demonstrated experience with financial process management and implementing accounting best practices.
Detail-oriented approach combined with strong strategic and analytical thinking capabilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including advanced Excel modeling capabilities.
Strong interpersonal skills with confidence and comfort interacting with management.
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP principles.
Solid understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements and internal control frameworks.
Experience in accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in commercial real estate or facilities management accounting.
CPA certification or active progress toward CPA certification.
Experience with financial reporting systems and compilation of financial statements for SEC registrants.
Experience working in matrix organizational structures and collaborating across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Familiarity with revenue recognition standards, particularly ASC 606, in service-based industries.
Previous experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.
Public accounting experience with Big Four or mid-tier firms.
Work Environment
This role operates in a professional office-based environment within a commercial real estate setting. You will work standard business hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a focus on meeting financial close and reporting deadlines. The position involves regular use of financial reporting systems and productivity tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including advanced Excel modeling. You will collaborate frequently with finance colleagues, including Business Partnering and FP&A teams, as well as interact with leadership and external auditors. The work environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, emphasizing accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement in financial processes and internal controls.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $69.00 - $70.00/hr.
