Job Description
This role focuses on assembling and packaging high-quality cases and mid-size flashlights that protect valuable equipment such as cameras and lighting accessories. You will work with hand and power tools, follow blueprints and work instructions, and ensure products meet quality and safety standards in a clean, production-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Assemble various sizes of heavy-duty cases used to store cameras, lighting accessories, and other sensitive equipment according to technical drawings and work orders.
Add and fit foam inserts into each case to meet specific product and customer requirements.
Assemble mid-size flashlights and related components following detailed work instructions.
Use hand tools and small power tools, including drills, hammers, and rivet machines, to complete mechanical assembly and packaging tasks.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly and packaging.
Package finished products, including taping boxes, labeling, and preparing items for shipment.
Count and verify inventory to support accurate order fulfillment and stock control.
Operate basic material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks and automated shrink wrap machines after appropriate training.
Lift and move materials and finished products weighing between 7 and 40 pounds safely throughout the shift.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
Use assigned tools and equipment responsibly and report any issues or defects to the supervisor.
Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals, quality standards, and schedule requirements.
Essential Skills
Experience in assembly, production, light industrial, general labor, or a similar hands-on role.
Ability to use hand tools confidently for mechanical assembly tasks.
Ability to use small power tools such as drills, hammers, and rivet machines safely and effectively.
Ability to read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and detailed work instructions.
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail when assembling cases and flashlights.
Ability to perform packaging tasks including taping boxes and preparing products for shipment.
Capability to lift and move items ranging from 7 to 40 pounds throughout the workday.
Willingness and ability to work on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as assigned.
Reliable attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments is preferred.
Comfort working with mechanical assembly processes and using both hand and power tools.
Willingness to learn how to operate pallet jacks and automated shrink wrap machines.
Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment consistently.
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
Basic math and counting skills to support accurate inventory and packaging.
Flexibility to learn multiple workstations, including case assembly, foam insertion, and flashlight assembly.

Work Environment
You will work in a clean, organized production environment focused on assembling and packaging heavy-duty protective cases and mid-size flashlights. The facility operates multiple shifts, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, providing scheduling flexibility. Work involves standing, moving, and lifting items typically between 7 and 35 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 40 pounds. You will regularly use hand tools and small power tools such as drills, hammers, and rivet machines, and may be trained to operate pallet jacks and automated shrink wrap machines. Safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility vests is provided, while steel-toe boots are required and supplied by the employee. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and teamwork, with each employee receiving their own set of tools to perform assembly tasks efficiently and effectively.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.75/hr.
