Warehouse Material Handler
Job Description
The Warehouse Material Handler manages incoming and outgoing shipments, ensures accuracy in order fulfillment, and maintains inventory records in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in the supply chain by ensuring materials, parts, and products are received, stored, and shipped efficiently in support of production and other internal teams.
Responsibilities
Support all activities related to inbound shipments, including unloading deliveries from trailers to the dock using a hand truck and/or forklift.
Handle heavy equipment unloads safely and efficiently.
Segregate inbound material into direct and indirect categories and stage material within the facility to support all external and internal teams.
Support the Production Control team with material moves for quality inspection, put-away actions, and material issues in support of all production teams.
Provide assistance to employees when preparing outbound parcel and freight shipments, ensuring they are processed through the appropriate shipment request forms.
Assist the Shipping & Receiving and Production Control teams with clearing out dunnage and removing empty boxes and crates from the inbound dock area.
Use basic inventory control practices to help maintain accurate inventory records.
Utilize ERP or WMS systems, when applicable, to support material handling and inventory activities.
Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations.
Communicate clearly with team members and other departments to coordinate material flow and resolve issues related to shipments or inventory.
Essential Skills
Experience supporting warehouse and production functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive, aerospace, or related industries.
Hands-on experience with material handling and inventory control activities.
Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and use hand trucks safely.
Familiarity with ERP or WMS systems for basic warehouse and inventory tasks.
Familiarity with spreadsheets such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other systems used for creating and following work instructions.
Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions.
Capability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Effective English communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in automotive, aerospace, or other manufacturing industries.
Experience using ERP or WMS systems for inventory tracking and material movements.
Comfort working with spreadsheets for tracking materials and inventory.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and documentation.
Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support multiple teams such as Production Control and Shipping & Receiving.

Work Environment
This position operates on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with flexibility to work additional hours as needed. The role is based in a large, very clean manufacturing environment focused on medium-duty electric vehicles, where safety, organization, and cleanliness are prioritized.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
