Duties Description This position is within the ITS End User Services (EUS) Team in the Long Island Office. - Provide remote technical support via the Service Desk for NYSIF staff and external customers.- Address service requests and provide assistance to end users as it relates to NYSIF personal computing, both hardware and software.- Image computers.- Provide new employee onboarding support.- Configure mobile devices.- Support all ITS Teams with hardware deployments, installations and system maintenance. - Create and maintain user and instructional documentation. - Assist with the ITS hardware asset hardware inventory, including the maintenance of hardware inventory system data, participation in the annual Physical Inventory and hardware disposals.- Demonstrated ability to engage in good customer service skills when working with end users is required.- Experience and sound knowledge of basic computer functionality, including Windows operating systems, is necessary.The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications - Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list for this title; OR- One year of permanent, competitive class service as an Information Technology Specialist 2; OR, one year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law; OR- Bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science; OR- Bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field AND one year of experience in information technology; OR- 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND one year of experience in information technology; OR- Two years of experience in information technology.Note: Certain math and business courses although taken as part of a computer science curriculum, are not counted towards the 15 semester credit hours.Preferred Qualifications: - Candidate needs to have a fundamental understanding of Active Directory to support the issuance of computer hardware and system access.- Candidate needs to be able to diagnosis computer hardware and printer issues and determine corrective actions.- Candidate should have a basic understanding of email and Office365 products.- Candidate should be able to install, configure and troubleshoot software on Windows desktops.- Candidate must have a good understanding of computer information systems fundamentals in order to support IT hardware and software.
