Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting and tax activities for a Long-term Contract position based in Geneva, New York. This role is well suited for someone who can manage day-to-day financial tasks with accuracy while contributing to reporting, compliance, and account reconciliation efforts. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, tax-related work, and financial systems such as ADP and Workday.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial data across accounting periods.

Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to support the integrity of financial records.

Assist with corporate tax activities, including gathering documentation and supporting tax return preparation.

Manage sales tax processes by reviewing transactions, validating tax treatment, and helping ensure timely filings.

Support month-end and year-end close activities through account analysis, documentation, and reporting assistance.

Use accounting platforms, including ADP and Workday, to process financial information and maintain reliable records.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide accounting support, respond to inquiries, and improve reporting accuracy. Requirements - Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.

Practical knowledge of corporate tax and sales tax processes.

Ability to prepare and post journal entries with a high level of accuracy.

Strong understanding of general ledger structure, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.

Familiarity with corporate tax return support and related documentation.

Hands-on experience using ADP, Workday, or comparable financial systems.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
