The EHS Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and facilitating EHS programs and supporting production operations. This role partners with the Production Manager and department leads to maintain safe work practices, optimize production performance, and advance WCM initiatives. This position is responsible for promoting Saint-Gobain EHS policies and ensures compliance with all pertinent regulations that apply to the site. The EHS / Manufacturing Specialist provides technical and procedural support to production teams to help ensure the safe and efficient manufacturing of all products in accordance with customer and plant specifications.
Works with Saint Gobain EHS Resources to maintain EHS program to meet corporate guidelines and requirements. Supports the implementation of EHS management systems to ensure compliance and facilitates risk reduction activities that promote an incident and injury free workplace.
Works with Plant Production Manager with the objective of producing quality product and meeting operational and WCM objectives. Collaborates with department Production Leads to support and monitor schedule adherence and OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) by department. Uses and leads WCM methodology to facilitate problem solving activities to help troubleshoot problems on the production floor.
Position Responsibilities
Run the EHS program at the site; train, coach, and mentor all employees on proper EHS regulations and techniques
Provide support with incident investigations and corrective actions
Maintain filing of all internal, corporate, local, state, and federal regulatory compliance reports
Maintain EHS records, including legal matrix, EHS statistics, and reporting of incidents (near-miss, first-aid, and accidents involving injuries and/or property damage at the Poestenkill site)
Maintain the HazCom program, SDS sheets, and hazardous materials storage and waste disposal program
Maintain training records and document control
Inspect and process waste materials and emergency/safety equipment per SOPs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Lead and facilitate site risk assessment initiatives (e.g., Risk Assessments, NOS, Toxic Risk Management process)
Collaborate with Production and Engineering to evaluate safety and ergonomic impacts of new equipment or processes
Lead Manufacturing WCM efforts for the site, including supporting the organization, training employees, and driving WCM projects
Oversee group-driven WCM updates and changes
Lead 5S team projects and other continuous improvement initiatives
Assist the Production Manager with daily production issues, focusing on quality and OEE improvements
Analyze production processes and partner with operators to identify inefficiencies
Lead sustainability and environmental responsibility efforts aimed at minimizing waste and maximizing recycling across operations.

Minimum 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment (required)
1-3 years of experience in manufacturing supervision methodologies (preferred)
1-3 years of experience with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies (preferred)
1-3 years of demonstrated project management experience (required)
1-3 years of experience delivering training or serving as a trainer (required)

This role also supports the Saint-Gobain Life Sciences Quality Policy and participates in the applicable Quality Management System, including:
Supporting EHS elements of the Preventative Maintenance Program as needed
Maintaining document control related to EHS documentation

The national pay range for this position is $81,500 to $126,500 per year . Actual base pay offered may vary based on several factors, including geographic location, internal equity, and the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other considerations.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in an annual incentive program. The targeted bonus opportunity is 10% of the base salary , contingent on both individual performance and overall company results. The Total Target Cash compensation range (including base salary and target bonus) is $8,100 to $12,650. Bonus compensation is variable in nature and is not guaranteed, as it depends on achievement of predefined performance objectives.
