Summary This position is shared between Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) and Dental Service within VA WNY HCS. The position performs administrative and technical duties in support of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service Chief, the Dental Service Chief and the subordinate staff of the services. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence and/or reports; Screens incoming mail; Receives telephone calls, greets visitors, and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits; Assists with timekeeping duties; Monitors incoming specimens and registers VISN patients using Veteran Service Center SharePoint; Processes and tracks requests for pathology material from internal and external entities; Manages Dental Clinic employees and resident onboarding; Performs on-going tracking of data for Anatomic Pathology to ensure all reports are completed; Manages data collection and tracking to meet set Quality Assurance deadlines; Performs other duties as assigned Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:00am-3:30pm Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorized Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not approved Telework: This position may be authorized for telework. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/08/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
