Job Description
This role supports a practice by providing high-quality clinical and administrative support to patients and providers. The Certified Medical Assistant greets and rooms patients, manages accurate electronic health records, assists with patient intake and chart preparation, and helps maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day. This position requires strong technical skills with electronic medical records, excellent communication, and a warm, professional demeanor with patients and colleagues.
Responsibilities
Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner and escort them to examination rooms.
Perform patient intake, including verifying patient information, updating records, and preparing patients for their visit.
Document all patient information, procedures, and interactions accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (Allscripts).
Stock examination rooms and triage areas with appropriate medical supplies and ensure rooms remain clean, organized, and ready for use.
Monitor inventory levels, perform supply counts, and reorder medical supplies as needed to prevent shortages.
Schedule patient appointments with providers and residents, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the schedule.
Call patients to remind and confirm upcoming appointments and reschedule patients as needed, including those on bump lists.
Coordinate and schedule residents' clinics when appropriate, maintaining clear communication with the clinical team.
Prepare charts for the next day, including creating new patient charts, filing and pulling existing charts, and ensuring all documentation is complete.
Check charts for required referrals and authorizations prior to patient visits to support smooth check-in and billing processes.
Prepare charge tickets accurately to support proper billing and coding.
Collaborate with 3-5 providers and another Medical Assistant to support patient flow of approximately 16 patients in the morning and 15 patients in the afternoon.
Perform chart prep to ensure providers have all necessary information before each visit.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the practice and patient care.
Essential Skills
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential required.
Ideally 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
Proficiency with electronic medical records.
Strong medical assisting skills, including patient intake, chart preparation, and clinical support.
Ability to accurately document in electronic health records and maintain organized patient charts.
Computer savvy with the ability to learn and navigate clinical software systems quickly.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an outgoing and friendly demeanor.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a steady patient flow.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for chart prep, scheduling, and supply management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
CPR certification preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple providers and other Medical Assistants.
Comfort working with sensitive women's health and reproductive care topics.
Strong customer service mindset and commitment to patient-centered care.

Work Environment
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with standard hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will work closely with 3-5 providers and another Medical Assistant in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. The dress code consists of conservative, solid-color scrubs appropriate for a professional clinical environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
