Job Title: CW 3rd Shift Transaxle Test Support TechnicianJob Description
This role supports transaxle testing on bench dynamometers during third shift by preparing test setups, running dyno tests, monitoring performance, and assisting with data analysis. You will work closely with hourly technicians and other team members to ensure accurate execution of test procedures, proper software loading, and reliable operation of transaxle systems under test.
Responsibilities
Prepare and support dyno bench testing by selecting the appropriate test patterns and configurations for transaxle systems.
Download and install required software and test programs onto the test equipment and units under test.
Start, monitor, and control dyno bench tests to ensure they follow established test procedures and meet performance requirements.
Support hourly technicians on the test floor by providing technical guidance related to transaxle testing and bench dynamometer operation.
Monitor test progress and identify irregularities, escalating issues when necessary to maintain safety and test integrity.
Assist with data collection and basic data analysis to evaluate transaxle performance and verify test results.
Install, remove, and repair transaxles as needed to support test preparation, troubleshooting, and post-test inspections.
Follow detailed test procedures and documentation standards to ensure repeatable and accurate test execution.
Collaborate with other team members to support additional tasks and duties as assigned within the test lab.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around the bench dynamometer and related equipment.
Essential Skills
Ability to work the 3rd shift schedule, typically 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. or 12:00 midnight to 8:30 a.m.
Willingness and availability to complete approximately 2 weeks of training on the 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical degree or certification such as an associate degree in automotive technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field (preferred).
2+ years of bench dyno testing experience, preferably with transaxles.
2 to 5+ years of experience installing, removing, and repairing transaxles in a service environment.
Hands-on experience following formal test procedures for automotive or powertrain systems.
Working knowledge of transaxle operation and related automotive systems.
Ability to use and support bench dynamometer equipment for transaxle testing.
Basic skills in monitoring tests and interpreting test data to identify issues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in general automotive repair, including diagnosis and service of driveline components.
ASE certifications related to automotive repair or powertrain systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail when working with complex mechanical assemblies.
Ability to collaborate effectively with hourly technicians and engineering staff.
Comfort with learning and using test software and electronic tools for downloading and managing test programs.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in a test lab environment with bench dynamometers and transaxle test setups running on the 3rd shift. You will work overnight hours, typically 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. or 12:00 midnight to 8:30 a.m., with an initial training period of about two weeks on the 2nd shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The role involves working around running mechanical and electrical equipment, handling transaxles, and using tools and test instruments to support dyno testing. The environment is hands-on and technical, requiring adherence to safety procedures and consistent use of appropriate work attire suitable for an automotive and test lab setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
