Job Description
This role involves operating production machinery and performing hands-on assembly of manufactured parts in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will work on 2nd or 3rd shift, support the production of exterior automotive lighting products, and ensure that all parts meet quality standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Responsibilities
Operate production and assembly machines safely and efficiently according to work instructions.
Assemble processed parts and place finished or in-process parts on racks or in appropriate packaging.
Perform quality reviews of parts and finished products during the assembly process and separate out defective or nonconforming parts.
Use manufacturing blueprints to understand product specifications and verify that parts meet required standards.
Utilize hand tools and basic measuring tools as needed during assembly and production tasks.
Keep the work area clean, swept, and free of dust, maintaining strong 6S practices within the department.
Empty scrap baskets at regular intervals to prevent overflow and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
Locate and bring processed parts to the workstation for assembly as needed to support continuous production flow.
Assist with machine part changes and basic machine adjustments as required by the production schedule.
Perform general labor duties such as unloading materials, moving parts, and supporting other production activities.
Conduct visual inspections and basic measurements to ensure parts meet quality requirements.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating machines, forklifts, and other equipment as authorized.
Essential Skills
Previous manufacturing experience in a production or assembly environment.
Ability to read and understand manufacturing blueprints.
Experience using hand tools in a manufacturing or assembly setting.
Basic machine operating experience, including operating production or assembly equipment.
Ability to perform quality inspections and identify defective parts.
Capability to perform general labor tasks such as unloading materials and handling parts.
Attention to detail and ability to remain attentive during hands-on orientation and training.
Willingness and ability to work 10 to 12 hour shifts on 2nd or 3rd shift.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area following 6S principles.
Basic understanding of safe equipment operation, including forklifts, when properly trained and authorized.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with assembly line work in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
Experience in automotive or related manufacturing is beneficial.
Familiarity with using a tape measure and basic measurement tools.
Comfort working in a team-based production environment.
Strong reliability and consistency in attendance, especially during multi-day orientations.
Willingness to learn new machines, processes, and tools as production needs evolve.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing facility producing exterior automotive lighting products. You will work on 2nd shift (typically 5:00 pm to 3:00 am) or 3rd shift (typically 11:00 pm to 9:00-10:00 am), with the expectation of working 10 to 12 hour shifts depending on production needs. Orientation starts on a Monday and runs at least through Wednesday on day shift; it is hands-on and requires consistent attention. The environment includes production lines, assembly stations, and the use of machines, hand tools, forklifts, and measuring tools such as tape measures. Breaks are structured, with a 10-minute break approximately every two hours. The facility emphasizes cleanliness and organization, following 6S standards, and requires employees to maintain a tidy, dust-free work area. You should expect a fast-paced, physically active setting where safety procedures and appropriate work attire for a manufacturing environment are essential.Experience
