We are seeking a Data Modeler to design, develop, and govern enterprise data architecture for advanced engineering systems, including complex combat mission solutions. You will build and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that underpin data pipelines, analytics, and business operations. In this high-impact role, you will collaborate with engineering teams, data scientists, and business stakeholders to optimize system integration, improve data performance, and enable scalable analytics and reporting across modern data platforms and cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support enterprise data architecture and advanced engineering systems.
Translate business and engineering requirements into structured data representations that support analytics, reporting, and operational workflows.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accessibility across systems by applying sound data modeling practices and standards.
Develop and maintain data standards, data dictionaries, and metadata to support enterprise data governance initiatives.
Collaborate closely with engineering teams, data scientists, and business stakeholders to support system integration and end-to-end data solutions.
Reverse engineer existing databases and data structures to understand current-state architectures and inform future-state designs.
Support ASOT (Authoritative Source of Truth) identification and implementation to ensure reliable and trusted data sources.
Enable and support data integration and data warehousing solutions across platforms such as AWS, Oracle, Redshift, and Power BI.
Design and optimize ERDs, normalization, and dimensional models to support both transactional and analytical workloads.
Implement and support data quality, validation, and data governance frameworks to improve data reliability and compliance.
Collaborate in cross-functional Agile teams, contributing to planning, documentation, and continuous improvement of data solutions.
Develop and document data models, process flows, and related technical artifacts to ensure clear communication and maintainability.
Support scalable analytics and reporting solutions, including Power BI data modeling, transformation, and reporting.
Assist in structured problem-solving efforts to address complex data and integration challenges in a large-scale environment.
Essential Skills
Proven experience designing and developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases, including Oracle.
Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, particularly AWS and Redshift.
Hands-on experience with Power BI for data modeling, transformation, and reporting.
Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data governance practices.
Expertise in ERD design, normalization, and dimensional modeling.
Experience implementing and supporting data quality, validation, and ASOT frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience developing and documenting data models, process flows, and related technical documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
Experience working with data governance and data quality frameworks.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Midas, SSAS, Alation, or Dataiku.
Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, Mathcad, or MagicDraw.
Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop and Spark.
Azure cloud experience.
Experience with Agile/Scrum tools such as Jira or ServiceNow.
Exposure to defense or combat vehicle systems.
Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies.
Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days onsite and two days remote each week. The position follows a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday off for improved work-life balance. You will work within a cross-functional team that supports both engineering and data stakeholders, collaborating closely across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions. The environment is complex and large-scale, with modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and advanced engineering systems forming the core of the technology landscape.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $54.00/hr.
