Job Title: 2nd Shift Saw Operator

Job Description

As a 2nd Shift Saw Operator, you will be responsible for efficiently processing work orders by reviewing and grouping them according to material requirements. You will ensure the correct materials are pulled from the warehouse and accurately entered into the computer-controlled saw. Additionally, you will maintain inventory levels, distribute cut materials, assist in cycle counting, and perform light maintenance.

Responsibilities

Review work orders and create plans for efficient order processing.

Pull stock from the warehouse, ensuring material and thickness accuracy.

Enter size and quantity into the computer-controlled saw.

Maintain accurate inventory levels by recording material usage.

Distribute cut material to various shop areas for machining.

Assist in cycle counting and inventory tracking.

Perform light maintenance on saws and forklifts.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Follow all company safety protocols and best practices.

Interpret and adhere to production schedules and job priorities.

Communicate effectively with team members about job status, issues, and quality concerns.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in saw operation and blueprint reading.

Ability to use a tape measure and perform fabrication tasks.

Capability to use or learn to use CNC saw, forklift, tape measure, caliper, scanner, computer, and label printer.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong communication skills for internal customer interactions.

Organizational skills to maintain order and follow procedures.

Forklift certification or ability to obtain it.

Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports, and communicate effectively.

Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and understanding of fractions and decimals.

Problem-solving skills with the ability to apply common sense understanding to various situations.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, organized, and fully air-conditioned shop environment. Enjoy a 40-hour work week from Monday to Thursday, 2pm to 12am, with optional overtime opportunities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Appleton, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
