Job Title: Electrical Assembly I (2nd Shift)
Job Description
This role supports the mechanical and electrical build of complex customer products by assembling and wiring large control units using point-to-point schematics. You will work in a clean, temperature-controlled production environment, performing detailed electrical wiring, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure each unit meets strict safety, quality, and customer specifications.
Responsibilities
Perform electrical and mechanical assembly of large units, including panel wiring, while adhering to all safety, quality, and customer specifications.
Assemble finished units per customer requirements, including pulling wire, crimping, installing, terminating, and testing wiring and wiring harnesses using instruments such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
Wire different sections of large units using point-to-point schematics, wiring schedules, and other visual aids, ensuring accurate routing and connections.
Conduct real-time point-to-point testing throughout installation to verify correct wiring, identify issues, and ensure compliance with specifications.
Perform part replacement on tools and equipment as needed and according to schedule to maintain production readiness.
Resolve routine questions and problems independently, and escalate more complex issues to higher-level team members or supervisors.
Follow detailed written and verbal instructions, including visual aids, diagrams, blueprints, and wiring schematics, to complete assigned tasks accurately.
Coordinate with teammates in small group cells to organize and complete tasks that require multiple team members to accomplish.
Keep inventory personnel informed of spare parts inventory levels and locations to support efficient order fulfillment and minimize delays.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards and company procedures.
Comply with all procedures within the company's security policy and operational guidelines.
Work under direct, close supervision with frequent monitoring of output, following established processes and standards.
Participate in on-site classroom and hands-on training, including learning safety protocols, electrical wiring standards, proper labeling, testing procedures, and correct use of tools.
Install and manage large volumes of wiring in each unit-over 5,000 wires per build-ensuring each section is wired, tested for compliance, and ready before moving to the next section.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production goals and customer commitments.
Essential Skills
At least 6 months of experience in electrical wiring and assembly, working with wiring schedules, schematics, or visual aids; relevant technical schooling may be accepted in lieu of hands-on experience.
Ability to read and understand wiring schematics and diagrams, including point-to-point wiring and blueprints.
Hands-on experience with crimping, pulling, terminating, and installing electrical harnesses and subassemblies.
Proficiency in electrical and mechanical assembly, including panel wiring and control panel builds.
Ability to perform electrical testing using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters.
Experience using hand and power tools commonly used in electrical assembly and production environments.
Ability to interpret blueprints, graphs, schematics, and related technical documentation pertaining to the role.
Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in a production setting.
Ability to operate a personal computer using a Windows-based operating system and related software.
Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday-Friday) and to work scheduled overtime, including Saturdays when required.
Commitment to follow safety protocols, company policies, and training requirements, including successfully passing required assessments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Technical schooling or training in electrical or industrial disciplines (such as trade or technical colleges) is highly valued and may substitute for some hands-on experience.
Experience in avionics wiring, aircraft wiring, or A&P technician roles is highly transferable to this position.
Experience in the military involving wiring, diagnostics, or maintenance, including facilities maintenance, is beneficial.
Prior experience as an electrical assembly technician, panel builder, or control panel assembler in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with soldering, electronic assembly, and working with wire harnesses and ferrules.
Experience working in production or industrial environments with cell-based team structures.
Comfort working on large, intricate units (approximately 8 feet tall by 16-20 feet in length) that require extended build times and detailed wiring.
Ability to work effectively in small teams of 5-7 technicians, communicating clearly and collaborating to meet build schedules.
Strong attention to detail, especially when labeling wiring, aligning components in panels, and performing point-to-point testing.
Willingness to adhere to professional conduct standards in training and production environments, including appropriate language and attire.

Work Environment
This is a 2nd shift position with core hours of 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with regular overtime opportunities. You must be available to work on Saturdays when scheduled, with total hours not exceeding approximately 58 hours per week. Work takes place in a clean, temperature-controlled production environment organized into cell stations with large working areas. Each cell typically consists of 5-7 technicians working together to assemble large, intricate units from the ground up over several weeks, installing and testing thousands of wires per build. All necessary tools and materials are provided on site, so you do not need to bring outside tools. Training occurs in an on-site lab and classroom setting, where you learn safety protocols, electrical point-to-point reading, proper labeling, testing procedures, and correct use of tools. Hands-on training includes using hand and power tools, adding ferrules, crimping, terminating, landing wiring, and aligning components in panels for tracing. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization according to 5S standards, and professional conduct, including appropriate attire and adherence to safety and security policies.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
