Job Description

Responsibilities
Build, assemble, and verify electrical cable harnesses according to specifications and schematics.
Perform quality checks and testing on harnesses and electrical components to ensure they meet performance and safety standards.
Support the shipping, handling, and organization of electrical assemblies, lab materials, and related equipment.
Create and update basic electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation to support ongoing projects.
Assist engineers and team members with lab activities, experiments, and testing procedures.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation to support assembly and troubleshooting.
Provide general support for sustaining engineering efforts across multiple projects, including maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate execution of tasks and timely completion of project milestones.
Participate in hands-on tasks in the lab, including basic electrical assembly, soldering, and laboratory testing as needed.
Contribute to a learning-focused environment by seeking feedback, asking questions, and continuously improving technical skills.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
Fundamental understanding of electrical engineering principles and electronics.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and diagrams.
Basic experience or exposure to electrical assembly and laboratory testing environments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
Willingness to perform hands-on tasks, including assembly, testing, and general lab support.
Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and dependability.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Motivation to learn, adapt, and take on a variety of responsibilities in a lab-based setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Soldering experience or training, with openness to receiving additional soldering training if needed.
Exposure to embedded hardware through coursework, academic projects, or personal projects.
Familiarity with board-level electronics and related components.
Prior lab experience, internship experience, or hands-on project work involving electronics or electrical systems.
Interest in hands-on electrical work and continuous learning in a practical lab environment.
Desire to grow into higher-level engineering responsibilities over time, such as roles in electrical engineering or electronic technology.
Interest in long-term career stability and development within the local area.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role based in a lab environment in Fort Wayne. You will work directly with electrical assemblies, cable harnesses, embedded hardware, and board-level electronics, using standard lab tools and test equipment. The environment emphasizes hands-on work, collaboration, and continuous learning, with exposure to a variety of projects rather than being limited to a single assignment. The position follows a structured schedule that aligns with an established holiday calendar and includes paid time off. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
