Job Description
This role offers an opportunity for an Electrical Designer with approximately 2-4 years of experience in electrical design and drafting to contribute to a wide range of building projects. You will support the design of power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD and energy compliance software, while collaborating closely with a diverse team of design professionals. Responsibilities
Perform electrical design and drafting for building projects, focusing on power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
Prepare and update electrical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project standards.
Assist with energy compliance documentation, including the use of energy compliance software to support code and regulatory requirements.
Conduct or support photometric analysis to evaluate lighting performance and ensure design compliance with project criteria.
Participate in the design of projects across multiple sectors, including healthcare (OSHPD), K-12 (DSA), higher education, civic, commercial, recreation, and multi-family residential.
Coordinate with other design disciplines to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.
Use tools such as Bluebeam to review, mark up, and collaborate on drawings and project documents.
Support the preparation of construction documents, including plans, details, and schedules for electrical systems.
Manage multiple design tasks or projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines and project milestones.
Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with team members to clarify design intent, resolve issues, and support project coordination.
Contribute to problem-solving and decision-making efforts related to electrical design challenges and project constraints.
Work collaboratively within a team environment, participating in project meetings and coordinating with colleagues in different offices as needed.
Essential Skills
2-4 years of experience in electrical design and drafting.
Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical design and drafting tasks.
Experience in power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage system design, or a combination of these disciplines.
Experience with energy compliance documentation and energy compliance software.
Ability to perform or support photometric analysis for lighting design.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.

Exposure to a variety of project @types, including healthcare, K-12, higher education, civic, commercial, recreation, and multi-family residential.
Interest in developing multiple technical skill sets under coaching and mentorship.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of RANCHO CORDOVA, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
