Job Title: Heavy Industrial Assembler - Mechanical
Job Description
This role focuses on building custom line-painting trucks used on airport runways and roadways, starting from a rolling chassis and cab and finishing with fully installed and functioning components. You will perform mechanical assembly, wiring, and installation of specialized equipment such as compressors, tanks, pressure vessels, spray systems, and related accessories. The position is ideal for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, particularly those with experience in diesel, automotive, or other mechanical repair roles, and offers the opportunity to grow into a cross-trained, lead-level position over time.
Responsibilities
Assemble custom line-painting trucks from a rolling chassis and cab to a completed, fully functional vehicle.
Install and secure mechanical components including compressors, tanks, pressure vessels, spray guns, and associated hardware according to specifications.
Perform wiring and basic controls wiring for components and accessories, ensuring proper electrical connections and functionality.
Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions to complete builds accurately and efficiently.
Use a variety of hand and power tools safely to fabricate, fit, fasten, and adjust parts and assemblies.
Install, connect, and support hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ensuring proper routing, clamping, and leak-free operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues during assembly and final checks.
Conduct functional tests on installed systems and components to verify performance and identify any necessary adjustments or repairs.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to prioritize work, meet production schedules, and maintain quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following shop safety procedures and using personal protective equipment as required.
Participate in cross-training to learn multiple areas of the build process and support team flexibility.
Provide input on process improvements and assist in training others as skills and experience grow, with potential to assume lead responsibilities in the future.
Essential Skills
Proven mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, repair, or maintenance.
Experience working with hydraulic systems, including installation, routing, and basic troubleshooting.
Background in diesel or automotive repair, machine building, or similar mechanical trades is highly beneficial.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings for assembly work.
Skill in using hand and power tools safely and effectively in a shop or manufacturing environment.
Experience with mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and correct issues during assembly or testing.
Basic experience with controls wiring and troubleshooting simple electrical systems on equipment or vehicles.
Comfort working in a shop/manufacturing environment around heavy equipment and fabrication processes.
Demonstrated work history showing reliability and longevity in previous roles.
Ability to work a 1st shift schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with mandatory overtime on Fridays and possible Saturdays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Williamsport, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
