Job Title: Director of Financial Systems Transformation
Job Description
The Director of Financial Systems Transformation leads the end-to-end finance systems solution, overseeing processes from transaction initiation through financial close and reporting. This role sets the strategic vision for finance data, reporting, and analytics, and ensures that global finance processes, systems, and tools align with enterprise priorities. The director partners closely with finance leadership, IT, and external implementation partners to design and deliver a scalable transaction-to-report model, drive finance transformation initiatives, and champion data and analytics as strategic assets for the organization.
Responsibilities
Serve as the senior accountable owner of the end-to-end finance systems solution, covering the full lifecycle from procure-to-pay (P2P), record-to-report (R2R), and order-to-cash (O2C) through financial close and reporting.
Provide strategic direction to a team of dotted-line process and functional owners, ensuring cross-vertical alignment and evaluating decisions for their downstream impact across the integrated finance solution.
Act as the senior escalation point for cross-vertical issues, design conflicts, and trade-offs spanning process, data, and reporting boundaries.
Represent the integrated finance systems solution to finance leadership and executive stakeholders, clearly communicating risks, opportunities, and progress.
Own the strategic vision for finance data and reporting, ensuring that data architecture, reporting frameworks, and analytics capabilities support upstream process design decisions across transactional domains.
Provide strategic direction and senior oversight to the Finance Data & Reporting Owner to ensure the data and reporting solution remains aligned with enterprise priorities and the integrated transaction-to-report model.
Champion data and analytics as strategic assets across the finance organization by partnering with finance leadership to define reporting priorities, KPI frameworks, and standards for evaluating financial reporting quality and usefulness.
Define and maintain the global finance process design framework, establishing standards for how processes are designed, documented, and governed across all legal entities and functional domains.
Own and communicate the finance systems solution roadmap, translating strategic business priorities into a sequenced, cross-vertical delivery plan in partnership with IT, finance leadership, and external implementation partners.
Provide senior subject matter expertise across the financial application portfolio, ensuring tool design and deployment decisions reflect enterprise architecture standards, long-term scalability, and the integrated transaction-to-report solution.
Lead business requirements definition at the program level for finance systems initiatives, ensuring requirements capture the full transaction-to-report scope and that cross-vertical dependencies are identified and resolved before configuration begins.
Serve as the finance program lead for ERP and financial system implementations, overseeing functional design governance, cross-workstream integration, and delivery partner performance.
Own user acceptance testing (UAT) governance for finance system implementations, ensuring test coverage spans the end-to-end solution and that sign-off reflects validated integration across process, configuration, and reporting layers.
Own the change management and adoption strategy for finance systems initiatives so that impacted users across all legal entities and functional roles are prepared for changes spanning the full transaction-to-report lifecycle.
Set direction and standards for finance training program design to support consistent, high-quality user adoption.
Lead user community communications, ensuring the finance organization receives timely, integrated messaging about system changes, enhancements, and go-live milestones.
Own the governance framework for finance system change requests, establishing intake, evaluation, and prioritization processes through which process and functional owners surface improvement opportunities to finance leadership.
Evaluate change requests for cross-vertical impact before prioritization, ensuring improvements in one domain, such as P2P workflow changes, are assessed for their effect on downstream data flows, reporting, and adjacent process areas.
Synthesize approved change requests into a coherent continuous improvement roadmap that balances tactical fixes with strategic enhancements in alignment with the broader finance systems solution roadmap.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
