As an Advanced Materials and Process Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of advanced hardware systems that support aerospace technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that enhance the performance, reliability, and safety of aerospace products.
You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Phoenix, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and expertise to solve material and process problems for both manufacturing and design of electronics.
Perform special process audits at electronics suppliers.
Determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions, and implement corrective actions, for special process audit findings and other non-conformances.
Deploy technical expertise in creation, review and maintenance of Honeywell Aerospace and industry specifications.
Apply six sigma tools in the failure analysis process including development and implementation of design of experiments (DOE's).
Perform trade studies to evaluate suitability, reliability, and failure characteristics of materials and assemblies.
Provide technical support and leadership of special projects related to materials obsolescence, product / process improvement, technology development, etc.
Function as the primary technical focal for materials and processes on design programs, and provide direct support to program design activity, including material and process selection, completing customer deliverables (i.e., material and process analysis and test reports), and technical problem-solving during development, qualification, and production phases.
Provide program / customer interface and communications to assure clarity and confidence for all projects, actions, and deliverables.

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Applied Science, or Science.
5 or more years of engineering experience with electronics processes (e.g., printed boards, printed board assembly, conformal coating, cable and wire harness assembly).
WE VALUE
Master's degree or other advanced degree.
Aerospace industry experience.
Direct experience with materials and process design and applications roles, especially supporting aerospace hardware.
Direct experience with multiple electronics processes (e.g., printed boards, printed board assembly, conformal coating, cable and wire harness assembly).
Direct experience with other materials and processes used in electronic box assembly (e.g., adhesives, elastomers, sealants, molding, potting, bonding, painting, torquing of threaded fasteners, mechanical assembly).
Direct experience with industry, military, and aerospace specifications.
Direct experience in auditing systems, processes, and procedures.
Direct experience in project leadership and achieving results through use of influence, negotiation, and persuasion.
Direct experience with continuous improvement tools, processes, and methodologies including RCCA.
Strong focus on task completion and exceeding expectations
