Our Sunnyvale site has an immediate need for a Controls Engineer.
Lockheed?Martin's Sunnyvale site is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join the Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) team. The MGSE group supplies critical ground support hardware to Lockheed?Martin programs nationwide. In this role you will design, program, and maintain PLC based consoles used to test missile interceptor vectoring assemblies, while driving equipment upgrades and integrating new technologies into the test environment.
You will:
Implement upgrades on existing consoles, including wiring and calibration.
Work alongside Manufacturing and other Controls Engineers to bring these new technologies into the production flow.
Verify work by performing system checkouts, provide training and assistance, and support ongoing maintenance of equipment and software. Safety is of utmost importance and will be a key requirement before release into production.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related technical field or equivalent hands on experience
Control Systems: Proficiency with Allen Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix, PowerFlex VFDs, and safety PLC concepts.
HMI Development: Experience creating/operator interfaces in FactoryTalk View SE/ME and PanelView.
Networking: Strong knowledge of Ethernet TCP/IP, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and industrial network troubleshooting.
DAQ & LabVIEW: Hands on experience programming National Instruments cDAQ/PCI DAQ hardware in LabVIEW (VI development, data logging).
Sensors & Instrumentation: Familiarity with a variety of industrial sensors and interfacing electronics (force, displacement, temperature, limit switches).
Ability to read/understand controls schematics, backplane layouts, and wiring.
Proven understanding of building automated and mechanical systems.
Combined skills in mechanics & pneumatics
US Citizenship required to perform the task
Desired Skills:
Experience using Zuken E3.cable for generating and modifying cable drawings
Solid Modeling, Drafting, and GD&T Tolerancing experience.
Experience with custom motor VFD tuning preferred.
CAD experience using CREO
Experience with server/stepper motors, linear actuators, pneumatics.
Software/Process multithreading (C#/VB.Net, XML, Visual Studio, Lab View, SQL, PHP, and Linux languages)
Webservices and SQL DB
Experience with programming, robotics, and systems development.
Experience with IO-Link and OPC UA protocols

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
