2nd Shift Production Technician - Stable Career Growth Opportunity

Position Overview

We're hiring a reliable and motivated Production Technician to join our team on 2nd shift . In this role, you'll help produce high-quality parts by supporting furnace operations, monitoring equipment, and ensuring consistent product quality.

What You'll Do

Prepare parts for furnace processing to meet specifications

Load and assemble components into furnaces safely and efficiently

Monitor equipment and adjust as needed to maintain quality and output

Perform routine machine checks to identify potential issues

Assist with basic troubleshooting and minor maintenance

Follow work instructions and production documentation

Conduct visual inspections and quality checks using gauges and tools

Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe

Communicate with team members and leaders to ensure smooth operations

Support continuous improvement efforts in safety, quality, and production

What We're Looking For

~1 year of manufacturing or machine operation experience (or trade school)

Basic knowledge of machining or production equipment

Ability to read work instructions and simple blueprints

Experience using calipers, micrometers, or gauges

Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with equipment

Basic troubleshooting skills

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Reliable attendance and punctuality (very important for this role)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with furnace or heat-treat operations

Familiarity with manual machines or drill presses

Experience in a fast-paced production environment

Interest in long-term career growth or apprenticeship programs

Schedule & Work Environment

Training:

1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM (up to 1 month)

Regular Schedule:

2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Additional Details:

Occasional Saturdays

Last Saturday of the month is required (unless goals are met)

Manufacturing environment with:

Furnaces, machining equipment, and manual tools

Use of calipers, micrometers, and gauges

PPE required: safety boots, glasses, ear protection

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Freeport, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
