Overview

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is currently hiring for a Superintendent to support our High Voltage team in the Midwest.

The Superintendent will be responsible for the on-site management of high voltage projects including transmission & distribution, substation and data centers. The position will report concentrate on field coordination and production, safety, and quality compliance.

Location & Travel: You can be based in any city or state in the United States. This is a traveling position encompassing work sites in the Midwest. Must be capable of up to 75% travel (e.g. 3 weeks or 15 days per month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing. We offer designated per diem in addition to base pay to support and help you cover living expenses during the travel rotation. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided.

Responsibilities

Reports to the Operations Manager daily.

Review project drawings and do a material takeoff to ensure an accurate BOM.

Meet with the local IBEW to discuss the project and manpower requirements.

Determine equipment needs and coordinate with fleet to schedule delivery.

Walkdown the project prior to construction for site layout.

Oversee site construction from below grade work through completion.

Ensure all safety and quality requirements are followed by performing observations and immediately addressing any deviations.

Mentor crew members.

Coordinate with subcontractors to confirm they are on schedule and following site policies.

Attend project meetings and report as required.

Coordinate with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, crew and back-office personnel.

Assist Project Manager with change orders.

Layout and maintain a 3-week look-ahead schedule.

Provide work tasks and job progression for the Plan of the Day (POD).

Update overall schedule as the job progresses.

Coordinate with Testing group prior to commissioning.

Ensure any punch-list items are addresse
