Duties Description The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:- Manage two teams within the Gaming and Public Integrity (GPI) Solutioning, Infrastructure Support and Quality Control Unit.o Manage a dedicated team of engineers that is responsible for all server maintenance, and application changes and upgrades for agencies we support..? Work with Information Security Office (ISO) to ensure all Windows servers that support our agencies are running on secure and supported versions; provide updated reports as needed to meet ISO requests.? Execute/delegate build and release tasks in Azure DevOps for Business Solutions when code deployment is requested - follow Release & Deployment (R&D) Policies and Procedures.? Review and approve all requests for new builds and releases and verify they have Operational Support within Business Solutions after deployment to Production; identify operational gaps and meet with Business Solutions Directors.? Streamline procedures for code migrations across all agencies utilizing Azure DevOps in conjunction with ITSM requests and records.? Identify repetitive manual processes across GPI and utilize Job Scheduling tools to automate tasks.? Maintain a structured and organized listing of all servers which includes versions, operating systems, environments and applications using them.? Responsible for setting up new GPI applications, troubleshooting existing applications. ? Upgrade Operating Systems on servers and resolve vulnerabilities.? Request new servers to be built and configure them as needed.? Perform full range of supervisory responsibilities.o Manage a dedicated team of QA/QC Testers responsible for the overall quality of GPI applications being created, changed or enhanced.? Ensure all applications follow testing protocols before being deployed into production - follow Release & Deployment Policies and Procedures.? Create technical documentation, templates, and processes and procedures for consistent and standardized testing protocols.? Provide direction and training to Developers and Business Solutions Directors on the creation of ITSM Infrastructure Support Requests, Change Records, and assignment of ITSM Tasks so enable successful R&D workflow.? Collaborate with Change Management to ensure Application Deployments and Regular Maintenance Deployments do not conflict with scheduled changes.? Train staff on how to create Test Scripts using Business Requirements and Technical Documentation.? Verify Testing Plans are valid and complete - they contain plans for functional, integration, regression, security scanning, performance/load, and user acceptance.? Monitor all new release packages going from Dev environment to Prod environment; this includes but not limited to: ensuring all steps in the Release and Deployment Policy are complete prior to Production deployment, verifying all QA/QC is completed and signed off on by the Program Area prior to the Application being deployed to the Production environment and ensuring monthly security scanning is set up to run in the Production after deployment. ? Implement ADA standards and WCAG compliance efforts for both new and legacy applications by following standard scripts and using approved tools during the QA/QC process.? Assist Change Managers by creating automated test scripts where applicable; maintain Testing Portal where all scripts can be accessed.? Perform full range of supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG25 OR in a position at the SG23 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades. Note: If you are on the examination eligible list for the position title in this location, you do not need to respond to this posting unless you are also eligible for appointment by one of the qualifications listed above. Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for this title in order to be list appointed.
