Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract opportunity in Montana. This role is ideal for someone who can manage month-end activities, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure timely reporting. The successful candidate will work across key accounting functions, contributing strong analytical skills and a disciplined approach to reconciliations and ledger accuracy.
Responsibilities:
Lead month-end close activities by preparing entries, reviewing balances, and helping ensure deadlines are met.
Maintain the general ledger by recording financial activity accurately and investigating variances when needed.
Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support and alignment to accounting standards.
Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis to confirm accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Complete bank reconciliations by comparing transactions, identifying exceptions, and following through on corrective action.
Analyze financial data and supporting records to improve accuracy in reporting and close processes.
Partner with internal stakeholders to gather documentation, clarify transactions, and support day-to-day accounting needs. Requirements - At least 3 years of accounting experience in a senior-level or comparable role.
Strong hands-on experience with month-end close processes and general ledger management.
Proven ability to prepare journal entries and reconcile accounts with a high level of accuracy.
Experience completing bank reconciliations and researching variances independently.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping best practices.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
