Reports to: Accounting Supervisor

Compensation Range: $13 - $16 hourly (depending on location, experience, skills, and qualifications)

Ceres Caribe is recognized for its rapid disaster recovery including debris removal, demolition, and blue roofs. We perform resiliency services, including vegetation management and utility line clearing for the Puerto Rican power grid. Ceres Caribe is also nationally recognized for creating natural parks and an aviary center on the island. The company is expanding its efforts to assist in securing the power grid for the Island.

What We Are Looking For

The Accounting Clerk provides essential support to the Accounting Department and ensures accurate and timely financial processing. This role contributes to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger entries, reconciliations, and cash reporting.

The role fits within the Accounting Department and collaborates closely with internal teams. It does not manage direct reports but provides cross-functional support to Inventory Control and Accounts Receivable.

What You Will Do

Support accounting functions with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable billing.

Assist with general ledger entries, account reconciliations, cash reports, and month-end closing.

Cross-train and provide backup support for Inventory Control Specialist and Accounts Receivable.

Answer phones and redirect calls as appropriate.

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with accounting procedures.

Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies.

Uphold confidentiality and accuracy in handling financial information.

Perform additional duties or projects as requested.

Required Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

3+ years of relevant experience.

Excellent organizational skills and self-motivation to complete routine tasks.

Strong attention to detail and customer-focused approach.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work well with others.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to multitask with frequent interruptions.

Strong analytical and math skills with a high level of accuracy.

Experience in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).

Ability to work required shift hours.

Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Preferred Qualifications

Viewpoint Vista experience preferred.

Experience in construction or disaster recovery work.

What to Expect

This role provides daily support to the Accounting Department and requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization. You can expect a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. Daily tasks include processing A/P and A/R transactions, preparing reconciliations, supporting month-end close, and assisting with cash reporting.

You will interact with internal departments, vendors, and customers, requiring professionalism and strong communication skills. The role includes cross-training and providing backup support to Inventory Control and Accounts Receivable.
