Hill's Pet Nutrition is seeking a detail-oriented and linguistically skilled Marketing Translation Specialist to join the Strategic Creative Services (SCS) team. This role ensures that all localized creative assets meet Hill's high standards for language accuracy, brand tone, and regulatory compliance across global markets. Reporting to the Account Manager, the Marketing Translation Specialist will review translations, adapt copy for local markets, and verify that messaging reflects the intent of the master English copy while resonating authentically within each language and culture.
The ideal candidate combines exceptional linguistic precision with an understanding of marketing, ensuring every asset - from digital campaigns to packaging support - maintains Hill's brand integrity and credibility across regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and proofread localized marketing copy for linguistic accuracy, tone of voice, and brand alignment across multiple regional markets.
Adapt and refine translated content to ensure it conveys the correct meaning, nuance, and emotional intent of the English master copy.
Verify product claims, disclaimers, and legal language for compliance with local market requirements in partnership with the Creative Rights & Compliance Manager.
Collaborate with copywriters and Creative Manager to maintain consistency of brand tone, terminology, and messaging across all creative channels.
Conduct final QA checks on translated layouts (e.g., social, digital, print) to confirm formatting, spacing, and linguistic integrity before publication.
Support the creation and maintenance of a regional style guide and terminology library, documenting approved translations and best practices for copy adaptation.
Partner with translation vendors or agencies to provide feedback on tone, word choice, and consistency.
Collaborate with design and account teams to ensure local-language copy fits within technical and design constraints.
Participate in cross-functional reviews to identify and resolve recurring translation or tone inconsistencies.
Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and linguistic accuracy across the regional creative workflow.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics, Translation, Communications, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in localization, translation review, or language quality assurance within a marketing or creative environment.
Native or near-native fluency in at least one key regional language (e.g., French, Spanish, etc).
Excellent command of English, with proven ability to interpret, adapt, and refine English source copy for regional audiences.
3+ years experience, in a professional @context, with grammar, syntax, and linguistic nuances across multiple languages.
Preferred Qualificat ions:
Experience working within a consumer packaged goods (CPG) or regulated industry requiring precise claims and compliance language.
Familiarity with translation management systems (TMS) or computer-assisted translation tools (e.g., Smartling, Phrase, Memsource).
Knowledge of Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms such as Bynder.
Experience supporting multi-market creative campaigns and understanding cultural adaptation best practices.
Familiarity with AI-assisted translation or copy quality tools.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global creative environment.
Demonstrated ability to balance accuracy, creativity, and cultural sensitivity in localized content.
Excellent collaboration skills with creative, marketing, and compliance teams.
High attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple reviews across time zones.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $87,500.00 - $121,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
