Job Title: Test Technician
Job Description
The Test Technician will troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies down to the component level, execute mechanical and electronic testing, and ensure all work aligns with aerospace and quality standards. This role involves building and operating automated test equipment, interpreting blueprints and schematics, and documenting detailed test procedures while collaborating closely with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and quality teams.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot electronic components and assemblies down to the component level using established diagnostic methods and test equipment.
Perform testing on mechanical and electronic equipment in accordance with aerospace standards such as AS9100 and IPC-610.
Build, configure, and use automated test equipment to support production and engineering needs.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering documentation to determine appropriate test setups and troubleshooting steps.
Conduct environmental testing using vibration tables and thermal chambers to validate product performance and reliability.
Run test procedures from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and repeatability of test results.
Apply LabVIEW standards to read and run test procedures where applicable.
Document test procedures and results in detail, following AS9100 and IPC-610 requirements and internal documentation standards.
Troubleshoot and repair printed circuit boards (PCBs), including analog and digital circuitry, to restore proper functionality.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and quality personnel on the production floor to resolve technical issues and improve test processes.
Maintain test equipment in good working condition and report any issues that may affect test accuracy or safety.
Follow established aerospace, quality, and safety procedures while working with electronic and mechanical test systems.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of experience working in an electronic manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies and PCBs down to the component level.
Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment and PCB testing and troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
Experience documenting detailed test procedures and results in a structured and accurate manner.
Familiarity with aerospace standards, including AS9100 and IPC-610.
Experience working with both analog and digital electronic circuits.
Strong troubleshooting and repair skills in an engineering or electronics environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or trade school degree in engineering or a technical field preferred.
Exposure to LabVIEW for reading and running test procedures is a plus.
Experience building automated test equipment is highly desirable.
Experience in running complete test procedures from setup through final documentation.
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and quality professionals on the production floor.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established standards and procedures.
Work Environment
This role is based on the production floor, working closely with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and quality teams in a fast-paced electronic manufacturing environment. The Test Technician will work directly with automated test equipment, vibration tables, thermal chambers, and various electronic test instruments. The position is scheduled for second shift (approximately 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.), with initial training provided on first shift until the technician is comfortable performing the work independently on second shift. The organization offers a stable environment with a strong workload and a track record of avoiding layoffs, along with the opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time position.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.17 - $35.00/hr.
