Summary About the Position: This is a Project Manager position with the USACE Omaha District. Incumbent will have independent responsibility of accomplishing programmed objectives and for obtaining results in accordance with governing laws, policies, directives, and regulations and acceptable engineering practices. Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, design, construction, and direction of civil works projects in the district. Serves as the Project Manager, responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects. Controls and manages project milestones and budgets from planning through construction. Uses various automation tools to collect, analyze, and display project information. Represents the district, serving as the lead point of contact for projects assigned with sponsor/customer, Federal, state, and local government agencies, Congressional interests, other external organizations, and higher authorities. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience managing primarily hydropower civil works projects with varying degrees of complexity and magnitude throughout the project life cycle; 2) Controlling and managing primarily hydropower civil works project milestones and budgets from planning through construction; AND 3) Representing the district, serving as the lead point of contact for hydropower and other civil works projects assigned with sponsor/customer, Federal, state, and local government agencies, Congressional interests, other external organizations, and higher authorities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). . For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Project Management Project Scheduling Project Budgeting Attention to Detail Decision Making Flexibility Integrity/Honesty Interpersonal Skills Reading Comprehension Reasoning Self-Management Teamwork Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
