We're seeking a friendly, organized team member to help run our hospital gift shop - a welcoming space where customers find the perfect gift, patients receive thoughtful deliveries, and every interaction brightens someone's day.

What You'll Do:

Deliver Joy:Operate our retail shop, process sales, take phone orders, and may deliver flowers and gifts directly to patients

Create an Inviting Space:Stock, display, and merchandise products to keep our shop looking its best

Drive Success:Monitor sales, research pricing, and help maintain a competitive, profitable operation

Lead with Heart:Coordinate and support volunteers, building strong relationships with our team, vendors, and customers

Keep Things Running Smoothly:Assist with opening/closing duties, ordering, data entry, pricing, and day-to-day operations

Support Our Community:Provide excellent service to patients, families, visitors, and staff - making every experience memorable

Your Schedule:

This role offers a consistent rotating schedule with built-in flexibility:

Sunday:10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday:12:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday (split shift):9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Saturday:10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Banner Estrella Medical Center is a 353-bed acute care hospital providing a full range of health care services to the fast growing communities of west Phoenix. Opened in 2005, this is an innovative, fully electronic facility that features electronic medical records, computerized physician order entry, digital radiography, sophisticated ICU monitoring and much more. The hospital is also designed to provide a soothing, healing atmosphere for both patients and their family members. POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of retail operations. Responsible for coordination of day to day operations in order to assist in the achievement of a profitable program. . This position is also responsible for the processing of merchandise, such as ordering, data entry, unpacking, pricing, and displaying.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Monitors sales records and researches pricing policies to ensure the retail stores remain competitive. Provides customer service through the operation of a point of sale register system, taking phone orders and conducting sales within a retail setting.

Assists with stocking merchandise and displaying of merchandise in an effective manner. Assists with opening and closing duties of the retail shop.

Assists in the planning and development in courses of action to achieve the department/service goals and coordinates operating functions. Works closely with volunteers, vendors, customers, employees, visitors and patients and develops/maintains good rapport with same.

Leads volunteers to perform the work required to achieve identified goals of the department service. Advises on recruiting for volunteer staff and coordinates volunteers assigned to shop.

Coordinates and performs activities to meet department/service goals. Coordinates and participates in processes to validate achievement of goals to meet/exceed customer expectations. Implements methods for feedback from customers. Provides other training as needed.

May deliver flowers or gifts to patient areas.

This position assists in the coordination of the daily operations of the thrift shop. Provides supplies and services to all company facilities in the region. Customers are internal company materials management facility departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Two years of related experience. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, staff, and community members. Must have knowledge of and ability to operate business machines. Ability to communicate sufficiently to perform duties in a manner consistent with departmental scope of services and standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Additional retail and/or customer service experience is preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
