Job Description
This full-time Field Technician role focuses on performing inspections and testing on construction and private development sites. You will support quality assurance efforts in the field and laboratory by observing construction activities, conducting material tests, and documenting results to help ensure that projects meet required standards and specifications.
Responsibilities
Perform field inspections on active construction and private construction sites to verify compliance with project specifications and standards.
Conduct field observation and testing during concrete placements, including monitoring conditions, sampling materials, and documenting results.
Sample, inspect, and test soil and aggregates at construction sites to evaluate their suitability and conformance to project requirements.
Perform laboratory testing of concrete cylinders to determine strength and other performance characteristics.
Conduct laboratory testing of aggregates and soil, following established procedures and standards.
Use hand tools and testing equipment safely and correctly while performing field and laboratory tasks.
Troubleshoot issues encountered during field inspections or testing activities and communicate findings to the appropriate parties.
Accurately record test data, inspection observations, and results, and prepare clear documentation and reports.
Follow established safety protocols and quality control procedures in both field and laboratory environments.
Essential Skills
Experience performing field observation and testing during concrete placements.
Ability to sample, inspect, and test soil and aggregates in a construction environment.
Hands-on experience with laboratory testing of concrete cylinders, aggregates, and soil.
Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues during inspections and testing.
Proficiency in using hand tools safely and effectively in field and laboratory settings.
Ability to follow detailed procedures and accurately document test results and observations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with construction site practices and material testing standards.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in both field and laboratory work.
Effective communication skills to report findings and collaborate with project teams.
Ability to work independently in the field and as part of a team in the laboratory.

Work Environment
This is a full-time position with regular travel to active construction and private development sites. You will divide your time between outdoor field work and indoor laboratory testing. Field work may require working in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain, while laboratory work takes place in a controlled setting focused on precision and adherence to testing standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
