We offer a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife at our Community Health Center of Meriden's Women's Health and Prenatal Care Center. The Center is a department of our comprehensive CHC of Meriden practice which provides primary medical, dental, and behavioral health care. The CNM is responsible for comprehensive prenatal and women's health care services, including gynecology and contraceptive management. The CNM will work in an integrated team that includes OB/GYN physicians, Behavioral Health therapists, Registered Dieticians, Nurses, Medical and Medical Assistants. The CNM/NP will work in close collaboration with CHC of Meriden's contracted OB/GYN practice, which provides prenatal care on site as well as providing intrapartum care and afterhours coverage. As a Certified Nurse Midwife for Community Health Center, you will:
Provide high-quality routine prenatal care according to the standards of the ACOG and ACNM with particular attention to routine screening tests, health maintenance, anticipatory guidance and collaborative care for patients with psychosocial problems
Provide comprehensive, high quality care based on current, accepted clinical practice guidelines for prenatal patients with medical conditions like Chronic/Gestational diabetes, Asthma, Chronic/Gestational hypertension, Preeclampsia/Eclampsia, including those from the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN), The American College of Nurse-Midwives & The American Diabetes Association for patients
Collaborate with an OB/GYN group that is responsible for 24/7 call coverage and all labor/deliveries
Work closely with other team members within the department, site, and organization to accomplish assigned goals, objectives, and responsibilities
Assure compliance with CHC standards including those established by the Joint Commission, state of Ct. licensure, and CHC internal quality commit, OSHA/EOC, Safety/Infection Control, Quality Care Audits, and DPH licensure requirements
Adhere to CHC standards for Electronic Health Record charting and documentation
Work in a team atmosphere with other members of the clinical team including participation in daily huddles, periodic team meetings and sharing responsibility for improving outcomes with a medical team consisting of nursing and medical assistants
Demonstrate commitment to professional development, maintenance and enhancement of skills through participation in continuing professional education activities
Qualifications:
Licensed or license eligible in state of CT
Board Certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife , master's degree of DNP required.
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience
Current CPR certification
Commitment to care of underserved populations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Bilingual (Spanish skills), as well as experience in Centering Pregnancy model, a plus
