Summary You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Directorate of Operational Technology and Cyber Innovation of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This job will close when we have received 50 applications which may be sooner than the closing date. Responsibilities You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the cyber directorate's development, test, and operational networks through all applicable life-cycle phases. You will ensure system availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency. You will evaluate, analyze, and resolve challenging hardware and software-related problems. You will install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Operating Linux-based systems and Python programming systems. Designing, planning, and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software. Developing and maintaining the cyber directorate's development, test, and operational networks. Collaborating with team member to improve organization's engineering tools, systems and procedures, and data security. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
