THE POSITION
The Volunteer Resources Coordinator role at Torrance State Hospital offers an exciting opportunity to build connections between the hospital and the community. In this position, you help departments match their needs with volunteers who want to make a difference. Your work strengthens programs and expands support for patients across the hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position manages the development and coordination of volunteer resources that support hospital programs and patient needs. The role involves building community understanding, organizing volunteer services, and ensuring full compliance with laws and policies. As a Volunteer Resources Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:
Volunteer Program Coordination: Plan, organize, and direct volunteer activities to support hospital operations and patient services
Community Engagement: Work with community leaders to relate hospital needs to available resources and promote understanding of volunteer opportunities
Staff and Volunteer Support: Coordinate orientation, training, and evaluation processes for volunteers and assist staff who supervise them
Administrative Management: Maintain records, schedules, reports, and other materials that support effective program operations
Fund and Resource Oversight: Coordinate fundraisers, manage dedicated funds, and serve as chair for the Indigent Patient Fund Committee
Regulatory Coordination: Act as site coordinator for voter registration services and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience directing or coordinating the activities of volunteers, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, public relations, social work, or a related field;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
