Mechanical Design Engineer II

As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions for our aerospace customers. You will play a critical role in leading and driving the mechanical design process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable products.

You will report directly to the Sr. Engineering Manager and you'll work out of the Clearwater, FL location on a Hybrid (3+) work schedule.

In this role, you will be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge in developing innovative and cost-effective electronic packaging solutions for a variety of aerospace-related products. You will design products that not only meet customer requirements but also meet product quality and manufacturability targets. You will be supporting a variety of projects including new product development, product improvement, process improvement, proto@type builds, qualification testing and factory support.

Lead and drive the mechanical design process, from concept to production.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define mechanical requirements and specifications.

Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies.

Perform a variety of analyses, including structural, thermal, and durability.

Perform cost estimation and labor estimates.

Perform CAD based modeling.

Travel up to 10% may be required.

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design.

WE VALUE

Experience in the aerospace industry or adjacent fields.

Experience with electronics packaging.

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Experience with Statistical Tolerance Analysis.

Experience with mechanical analysis and simulation tools to ensure product performance and reliability.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.

Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to aerospace applications.
