Job Description:
The Internet team covers more than 45 stocks, with over $3 trillion market cap, and vetted over 50 private companies for IPOs, making its sector one of the most important contributors to Trading, Sales, Global Wealth and Investment Management.
The ideal candidate will have between one and five years of experience within a research team, Investment Banking, Consulting, Venture Capital, or a Corporate Management function. This role works alongside their Senior Analyst and Junior Analyst peers in all aspects from idea generation to company meetings, and will play a critical part in financial modeling and qualitative analysis for the vetting of IPOs, following-on offerings, sales teach-ins and new coverage launches.
Responsibilities
Perform financial modeling & valuation work
Regularly write industry and company reports and initiations of coverage from scratch
Analyze data in market research databases
Respond to research inquiries from our institutional investor clients during market hours
Interview industry experts regarding our covered companies and industries
Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
Participate and contribute to industry conferences and events
Closely follow and understand stock market, industry and company specific activity, and relay to the analyst when he/she is traveling
Seek out new, unusual sources of information to augment our research capabilities
Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes
Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience; progress towards a CFA or other relevant professional certifications is a plus
Extensive experience modeling income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement in Excel.
Ability to write clearly and concisely about technology, business, and other complex topics
Ability to comprehend and create charts, diagrams, tables and other data visualizations
1-5 years of experience in any formal research capacity, Investment Banking, Consulting, VC or a Corporate Management function
Must have extensive experience with Excel, Word & PowerPoint; VBA and data science skills a plus
Must respond well to time-sensitive tasks, such as writing earnings reports and responding to clients
Must enjoy following the stock market, high technology companies, and doing desktop and field research
Along with Finance and Accounting, the candidate should have a basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and
Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
Must work well in a collaborative team environment
