Job Title: Senior Electrical EngineerJob Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting the specification, design, implementation, installation, commissioning, startup, and close-out of small- to large-scale capital and major maintenance projects within a manufacturing environment. This role operates both independently and in collaboration with Central Engineering resources and provides hands-on technical expertise to plant-level Maintenance, Production/Operations, EH&S, and Management teams. The position requires a strong working knowledge of plant power distribution systems, PLC-based control systems, and industrial machinery, with a practical application of both electrical and mechanical engineering principles. This is a plant-focused, hands-on engineering role with significant time spent on the production floor.
Responsibilities
Lead capital and major maintenance projects, including scope development, funding requests, budget management, schedule tracking, execution, and close-out.
Prepare and support annual major maintenance and capital project planning.
Coordinate daily activities of contractors and plant maintenance personnel during project execution.
Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, safety standards, and EH&S requirements.
Design, program, test, and commission machine control systems using the latest hardware and software.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing process equipment and control systems.
Monitor, maintain, and improve plant power distribution systems.
Maintain and continuously improve plant process control systems, production networks, and data collection systems.
Maximize equipment productivity, reliability, and safety through effective control system design.
Provide training and technical support to Maintenance, Production/Operations, EH&S, and Management personnel.
Support equipment installations, startups, and commissioning activities.
Utilize the SAP maintenance work order system to analyze equipment breakdowns and perform root cause analysis.
Drive continuous improvement through data-driven problem solving and system optimization.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
10+ years of experience in an electrical or controls engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, including programming and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of industrial power distribution and machine control systems.
Experience leading capital projects and working cross-functionally in a plant environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Allen-Bradley PLC programming & troubleshooting (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Ladder Logic, HMI/FactoryTalk).
Industrial electrical systems & power distribution (MCCs, panels, NEC/NFPA 70, plant power monitoring).
SAP PM / CMMS experience for maintenance analytics and root cause analysis.
Industrial networks, SCADA, data collection & IT/OT integration.
EH&S, machine safety, LOTO, OSHA awareness, and code compliance.
Work Environment
The work environment is a manufacturing facility. The role involves 60% of time spent in the office for project development, engineering tasks, reporting, project updates, and team meetings, and 40% on the production floor for project support, equipment installation, commissioning, startups, troubleshooting, programming, and testing. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required during floor operations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
