Job Description
The Quality Control Inspector performs detailed inspections of energy storage systems and related electrical and mechanical components to ensure they meet all quality, safety, and engineering standards. This role reviews electrical and mechanical documentation, identifies and documents nonconformances, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on Energy Storage Systems and related components to verify overall quality and compliance.
Review and interpret electrical schematics for low-voltage control wiring and high-voltage power systems to confirm correct assembly, wiring, labeling, and configuration.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, CAD prints, and assembly drawings to verify structural integrity, component placement, and mechanical fitment.
Inspect high- and low-voltage electrical panels, wiring harnesses, and power distribution systems for workmanship, safety, and adherence to specifications.
Verify compliance with applicable quality standards, engineering specifications, work instructions, and safety requirements during all inspections.
Identify, document, and report nonconformances in a clear and timely manner, ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues and support cross-functional problem solving.
Support root cause analysis efforts to determine underlying causes of defects and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain accurate records, inspection data, and quality reports, ensuring all documentation is complete, organized, and audit-ready.
Assist with internal, customer, and regulatory audits by providing inspection records, explaining processes, and demonstrating compliance with quality requirements.
Essential Skills
Minimum 2-5 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving electrical or electromechanical systems.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical engineering schematics, including high-voltage and low-voltage systems.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, CAD prints, and assembly drawings.
Experience inspecting electrical panels, wiring harnesses, and power distribution systems.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies during inspections.
Strong documentation skills, including accurate recording of inspection results and nonconformances.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.
Electrical and mechanical blueprint literacy.
Knowledge of high- and low-voltage inspection practices.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple inspections and priorities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred.
Experience with Energy Storage Systems, batteries, power electronics, or industrial electrical equipment.
Knowledge of electrical safety standards such as NEC, NFPA 70E, and UL.
Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
Hands-on experience using inspection tools such as multimeters, torque tools, calipers, and similar equipment.
Understanding of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
Experience participating in internal, customer, or regulatory audits.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing and warehouse environment that involves regular interaction with electrical equipment and energy storage systems. You will stand, walk, and inspect equipment for extended periods, often 8 hours or more, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds as part of routine tasks. The facility operates in a fast-paced setting where you will move between workstations, production lines, and inspection areas. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to ensure safety around high- and low-voltage systems and industrial equipment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
