About this role

The Heat Transfer Group that is within Carrier's Mechanical Center of Excellence (MCOE) organization is seeking a motivated, results-oriented college student to join our team for a part time (10 hours a week) Summer Internship in 2026. The Carrier internship experience offers interns an environment that provides practical, challenging, and meaningful on-the-job work experience, and the opportunity to apply knowledge and demonstrate strengths in efforts to assist Carrier in achieving its business strategy. You will learn and apply skills in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics, including both single-phase and two-phase flows. You will grow professionally to become knowledgeable on heat transfer and system requirements for HVAC&R equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Support laboratory test rigs to characterize performance of enhanced heat transfer surfaces and components.

Apply engineering software such as MATLAB and EES to perform data reduction and heat transfer analysis.

Develop heat transfer and pressure drop correlations that accurately describe performance of heat transfer surfaces over a wide range of single-phase, condensing, and evaporating conditions.

Apply advanced simulation tools to assess system level impacts of new heat transfer components.

Basic Qualifications

Must be currently pursuing Bachelor's degree or higher degree in any Engineering field.

Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

Thermodynamics, Fluids and Heat Transfer coursework or previous internships preferred

Self-driven and proactive

Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects

Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $43,500.00 - $87,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

This?position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.?
