Summary As an IT Specialist (Applications Software) with the US Office of Personnel Management, Products and Data Engineering Divisions, you will serve as a senior software engineer responsible for designing, developing, integrating, modernizing, and sustaining enterprise application systems and services that support OPM mission requirements. Responsibilities Architect, design, develop, implement, and modernize enterprise application systems that support mission-critical organizational requirements. Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, including establishing engineering approaches, development standards, and delivery strategies. Evaluate, integrate, and support adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation, to improve application functionality and organizational effectiveness. Resolve cross-system application, architecture, integration, performance, security, and interoperability issues affecting major systems or services. Develop technical roadmaps, standards, design principles, and integration strategies for application systems or portfolios. Communicate technical recommendations, risks, tradeoffs, and modernization approaches to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ensure application development and technology integration activities comply with federal information technology, cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance requirements.
