Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer II coordinates the successful launch of new product introductions within Operations and drives continuous improvement across mixed-model manufacturing lines and value streams. This role supports facility transformation and technology transfer while ensuring that product, material, and information flows are synchronized for maximum efficiency and lowest cost of operation. The position focuses on implementing demand-driven principles, standard engineering tools, and robust processes that support operational excellence and long-range business plans.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and lead the successful launch of New Product Introductions (NPI) within Operations, ensuring readiness of processes, equipment, and documentation.
Contribute to facility transformation initiatives and support technology transfer activities to establish and maintain efficient mixed-model lines or value streams.
Ensure the ongoing success of process improvement initiatives by developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and process documentation.
Implement demand-driven principles and strategies that support operational excellence, including flexibility, speed, and responsiveness to changing requirements.
Optimize product, material, and information flows so they are synchronized to achieve maximum operational efficiency and minimize costs.
Generate and contribute innovative ideas to improve business results, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
Deploy and apply standard engineering tools, methodologies, standards, practices, and processes to support consistent manufacturing performance.
Define and implement objectives that include continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and fulfillment performance.
Work closely with shop floor personnel to promote and sustain ongoing continuous improvement of manufacturing methods, systems, and controls.
Design and optimize area layouts and process definitions to support efficient, safe, and high-quality production.
Lead PLC programming activities and support the design, selection, justification, and implementation of equipment, programs, and tooling.
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure alignment of manufacturing capabilities with product and business requirements.
Organize and manage project activities, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation of engineering and process changes.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
3-5 years of related experience in an engineering function within a similar manufacturing or industrial environment.
Hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, including process definition and optimization.
Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or ProE for layouts, tooling, and equipment-related design.
Demonstrated knowledge of lean principles and process improvement methodologies.
Proven experience with new product development and New Product Introduction (NPI) in an operations setting.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Excellent written and oral communication skills for clear interaction with cross-functional teams and shop floor personnel.
Experience leading projects and driving initiatives from concept through implementation.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve shared goals and desired business results.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with mixed-model manufacturing lines or value streams.
Experience in implementing demand-driven strategies that enhance flexibility, speed, and responsiveness.
Familiarity with PLC programming for manufacturing equipment and automation.
Experience in designing and justifying new equipment, tooling, and programs to support production needs.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain process documentation, policies, and procedures.
Proven track record of contributing innovative ideas that improve business performance and customer satisfaction.
Comfort working closely with shop floor teams to identify issues and implement continuous improvement solutions.

This is a Permanent position based out of Oshkosh, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
