Summary This position is located in the Education and Learning Resource Service, Salt Lake City Health Care System (VHASLCHCS). The incumbent is the system administrator for the Talent Management System (TMS) for VHASLCHCS and training specialist for multiple educational programs throughout VHASLCHCS. Responsibilities Some of the duties associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following: Identifies and modifies TMS training items or assignment profiles based on guidance provided by public law, national directives, local policies, or subject matter experts. Serves as TMS administrator; account creation and modification; creating reports; collaborating with program coordinators for content, trains others on TMS functions; troubleshoot irregularities; communicating with stakeholders and end users. Planning, administering, or evaluating programs designed to develop employees and manage learning in the organization. Interprets local, VISN, National, and other regulatory body policies, goals, regulations and statues, applying new methods to resolve complex issues. Participates in all phases of planning, implementing and administering a training program which is responsive to immediate and long-range needs and goals or the organization. Responsible for training program administration including identification of training courses, dissemination of course information to individuals, and answering inquiries related to training programs. Reviews and incorporates training mandates and guidelines from VHA, Joint Commission, OSHA and other accrediting bodies mandated into education programs to meet the intent of the standards ensuring staff are provided adequate and appropriate training based on requirements and position.
