Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
This role focuses on performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of food manufacturing and packaging machinery. You will work primarily on mechanical systems with some electrical responsibilities, ensuring reliable operation of production equipment on either 1st or 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on production and packaging equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on machinery such as conveyors, ovens, heaters, chillers, baggers, fillers, coolers, and other packaging equipment.
Complete mechanical repairs and adjustments, accounting for approximately 80% of the work, with the remaining 20% focused on electrical tasks.
Diagnose and resolve issues involving PLC-controlled equipment and support troubleshooting of control systems.
Set up, adjust, and modify machinery to support production needs and product changeovers.
Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems and take corrective action before failures occur.
Work safely and follow all facility procedures and guidelines while performing maintenance activities.
Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and coordinate repairs with minimal disruption to operations.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately and in a timely manner.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
At least 5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic working on conveyors, packaging equipment, heaters, ovens, baggers, fillers, and similar machinery.
Strong mechanical skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems.
Good understanding of electrical systems related to industrial machinery.
Ability to troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled equipment.
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics and their application in industrial equipment.
Experience performing preventative maintenance in an industrial environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Food industry maintenance experience is strongly preferred.
Experience in industrial, medical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments is beneficial.
Welding and fabrication experience is a significant plus.
Machining experience is highly desirable.
Background in electrical or controls work is a plus.
Ability to work either 1st or 2nd shift with some overtime as needed.

Work Environment
This position is based in a clean food manufacturing and packaging facility that produces dry food products. You will work on either 1st or 2nd shift, with an average of 5-10 hours of overtime available during the week. The environment centers on industrial production equipment such as conveyors, ovens, heaters, chillers, baggers, fillers, coolers, and related packaging machinery, including PLC-controlled systems. As this is a food production setting, you must be comfortable wearing hair nets and smocks at all times while in the facility and following strict cleanliness and safety standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.
