Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician (Level 3)
Job Description
The Industrial Maintenance Technician (Level 3) conducts, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and components within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This advanced-level role focuses on diagnosing equipment malfunctions, restoring functionality, and ensuring optimal performance of production machinery and facility systems. The technician supports all manufacturing areas, helping to maintain food manufacturing standards, improve operational efficiency, and uphold product quality.
Responsibilities
Ensure all production equipment and building structures meet food manufacturing standards and compliance requirements.
Install, maintain, and repair production machinery, facility systems, and related equipment.
Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Perform advanced-level troubleshooting and repairs on complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to drive cost savings and process enhancements.
Provide technical guidance and support to management, production, and other departments.
Communicate repair steps, parts requirements, and estimated completion times clearly and professionally.
Assist in technical training and knowledge sharing for cross-functional and maintenance team members.
Interpret blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and schematics to identify repair needs, parts, and proper procedures.
Maintain compliance with 5S principles, housekeeping standards, and food safety requirements, including SQF system integrity.
Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and projects.
Safely lift, move, and maneuver heavy parts and materials using proper techniques and assistance when needed.
Disassemble and reassemble equipment using correct replacement parts and proper tools to restore optimal operation.
Essential Skills
Minimum 3 years of hands-on mechanical experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Expert-level troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex repairs and root-cause analysis.
Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
Proficiency in disassembling and reassembling equipment using correct replacement parts and appropriate tools.
Hands-on experience with preventive and predictive maintenance in an industrial environment.
Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting, including work with three-phase power and motors.
Mechanical aptitude and experience with general mechanical repair and assembly.
Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and related industrial systems.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in a maintenance setting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and cross-team communication.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong work ethic and disciplined approach to problem-solving.
Customer-focused mindset with professional interaction skills when supporting internal stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with PLC troubleshooting in an industrial production environment.
Background in welding and basic fabrication for equipment repair and modification.
Experience in industrial maintenance within a food manufacturing facility is beneficial.
Familiarity with 5S methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
Comfort performing general labor tasks related to maintenance and equipment support when needed.
Ability to support technical training for cross-functional teams and less experienced technicians.
Comfort working with production teams and contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and projects.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during maintenance tasks.
Capability to frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs, regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift and move up to 150 lbs with assistance.
Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch while servicing equipment.
Frequent use of hands for handling tools and parts, and frequent reaching with arms.
Visual ability to perform close work, distance viewing, color identification, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment
This role operates in a food manufacturing facility that works with dough, flour, and related ingredients. The environment includes production machinery, industrial equipment, and facility systems that require regular maintenance and repair. You will work Monday through Friday on 8-hour shifts, supporting production operations in a fast-paced setting. The position involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, as well as interaction with production personnel and contractors on the plant floor. Standard food manufacturing attire, including a smock and hair covering, is required to maintain hygiene and safety standards. The role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, and manual handling of parts and tools in an active industrial setting.
